Lebanon is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in
the world. The temple of Bacchus (God of Wine), built by the Romans in the year
150, reflects the importance of wine making in the Bekaa Valley.
“Coteaux du Liban” enjoys a location at the slopes of Zahle, city of poems and
wine, at an altitude of 1100m in the center of the Bekaa Valley.
The estate is family owned, established by Nicolas ABOU KHATER a graduate wine
maker from the University of Burgundy in France, who aims to produce a Lebanese
character wine from a wise mix of traditional methods and new techniques to
reflect the particular terroir of “Coteaux du Liban”.
